The Smoothest, Tastiest Hummus Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One 19-ounce can (540 grams) chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 small clove of garlic or half a large one
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons water
  • Dashes of paprika for garnish
  • Jalapeños?
  • DJ&ampA mushrooms?
  • Cilantro

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine tahini and lemon juice. Blend for at least 1 minute until whipped.
  2. Add garlic, spices, and olive oil. Blend until smooth, scraping the sides with a spatula if needed.
  3. In a bowl, dump chickpeas and add water to rinse. Lightly rub the chickpeas between your hands to remove the skins. Add more water to help separate and wash away the skins.
  4. Strain the chickpeas and add them to the blender. Blend for 1 minute, scrape the sides and bottom of the food processor, then blend again.
  5. Add water gradually and blend until the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Garnish with dashes of paprika. Enjoy your delicious homemade hummus!

Tips & Notes

  • Use fresh chickpeas, soak overnight in baking soda
